"Shadows of Reality" series of abstract minimalist paintings was inspired by direct work with interior designers and architects. I recognized their need for simple minimalist art that seems to look gorgeous in professional or residential spaces. The combination of imperfect visual elements, with minimal use of color and texture, creates serene and non-intrusive abstract expressionist art pieces. To get to such simplicity with minimal primitive contexts, I need to think through every brushstroke and line. However, once I see the final result, it makes me want to play around and draw like a little kid.
